Introducing Steddi

Today we are launching Steddi, and we could not be more excited to share it with you. It has been about a year in the making, a lot of late nights, a lot of rethinking what a budgeting app should actually do, and a lot of saying "no" to features that didn't earn their place.

The short version: Steddi is a personal finance app that helps you track your spending, set budgets, and understand where your money goes. That probably sounds familiar. There are dozens of apps that promise the same thing. So why build another one?

Because most of them get it wrong

We tried all of them. Seriously, all of them. Some were beautiful but couldn't handle a second checking account. Some had every feature under the sun but took 20 minutes to set up. Some wanted $15 a month before you could even see your own transactions.

We kept coming back to the same question: why is it so hard to just see where your money went last month? That should take about ten seconds. Not ten minutes of configuring categories and linking accounts and dismissing upsell modals.

What Steddi does

Three things, done well.

Track your transactions. Connect your bank through Plaid for automatic syncing, upload a CSV from your bank's website, or add transactions by hand. We don't care how the data gets in. We care that it's accurate and easy to work with once it's there.

Set budgets that make sense. Pick a category, set a monthly limit, and watch the progress bar fill up. When you hit 75%, we let you know. When you hit 90%, we let you know again. Simple, no surprises.

See your spending at a glance. The dashboard shows your income, expenses, and net balance for the month. The insights page breaks it down by category with charts that actually load fast and make sense without a legend.

What we didn't build (on purpose)

No investment tracking. No debt payoff calculators. No retirement projections. Not because those things don't matter, but because they are different problems with different tools. We wanted to nail the fundamentals of day-to-day money management before adding anything else.

Every feature in Steddi exists because we personally needed it, tested it, and confirmed it made the experience better. If something didn't pass that bar, it didn't ship.

Free means free

Steddi has a free plan and a Pro plan. The free plan is not a trial. It includes unlimited transactions, up to five budget categories, manual entry, CSV import, and full access to spending charts. You can use it forever without paying a cent.

The Pro plan adds automatic bank syncing, unlimited budgets, email alerts, and priority support. It costs $8 a month or $72 a year. That's it. No hidden tiers, no enterprise upselling on the pricing page.

We take your data seriously

Bank connections go through Plaid with read-only access. We never see your banking credentials. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not sell your data, we do not mine it for ads, and we do not share it with third parties. Our revenue comes from Pro subscriptions. That's the only business model.

Give it a try

We built Steddi for ourselves first. Then for our friends. Now for you. Sign up takes about a minute, and you can start adding transactions right away. No credit card needed, no onboarding wizard that takes ten screens to get through.

If you have feedback, we want to hear it. Email us at hello@steddi.com. We read every message.

This is day one. We have a long list of things we want to build, and your feedback will shape what comes next. Thanks for giving Steddi a shot.
